Wire rope thimble die parts manufacturing process is generally more complicated

Wire rope thimble die parts manufacturing process is generally more complicated. Therefore, wire rope thimble must have adaptability to various processing techniques, such as forgeability, machinability, hardenability, hardenability, quench crack sensitivity and grinding processability. Generally, according to the material characteristics, production batch, precision requirements, etc. of the stamping parts, the wire rope thimble performance mold material is selected, and the wire rope thimble process and economy are also taken into consideration.

This is the key link in the heat treatment of wire rope thimble molds. If the superheat occurs during quenching, not only will the workpiece cause greater brittleness, but also cause deformation and cracking during cooling, which seriously affects the life of the mold. Wire rope thimble should be specially protected against oxidation and decarburization when quenching and heating. The heat treatment process specification should be strictly controlled. Wire rope thimble should be tempered in time after quenching and different tempering processes according to wire rope thimble technical requirements.

The working parts of the mold shall be subjected to stress relief annealing after roughing, with the purpose of eliminating internal stress caused by roughing, so as to avoid excessive deformation and cracking caused by quenching. For the wire rope thimble, the mold with high precision requirements needs to be subjected to stress-relieving and tempering after grinding or electric machining, which is beneficial to stabilize the wire rope thimble mold accuracy and improve the service life.
